Technical Superintendent (LPG, Based in Mumbai)

Salary Range: 45 – 50 L INR/Annum CTC

Experience –

  • Seagoing experience in a senior engineer position on LPG for at least two years (on board time) holding Class 1 (Chief Engineer Unlimited) Certificate
  • Preferably to have shore experience as Technical Superintendent in charge of LPG Fleet for 1year.
  • Excellent communications skills in English.
  • Well conversant with Maritime Legislations/Rules/Regulations.

Responsibilities
HSSE Excellence

  • Attending vessels for Sailing Inspections/Engineering Audits within time frame as per SMS requirements.
  • Sailing with the ship as Fleet Trainers to train onboard Crew.
  • Sailing with the ship to assess new or newly promoted Chief Engineer within the Fleet.
  • Attending the vessels during drydocking/sea trials.
  • Utilise risk-based approach ensuring all tasks are carried out safely.
  • Ensure the Company SMS, policies, standards, and procedures are effectively implemented on the vessels allocated.
  • Assist for implementation of the KPI’s for the Company.
  • Tracking and planning all External Inspections and Surveys with effective closure.
  • Assist to ensure all Statutory/Trading Certificates onboard are maintained up to date.
  • Monitoring the Class Status of the assigned vessels to ensure vessel strictly in Class compliance.
  • Conducting interviews of potential candidates for promotion or new to the Company “Chief Engineer; Second Engineer”.
  • Ensure all significant incidents/technical defects are investigated liaising with Management.
  • Member of crisis team; support as the situation demands with instructions from team leader.
  • Assist for review of Risk Assessments periodically.
  • Monitoring the budget activities for technical activities.
  • Promote Company environment management system in line with ISO 14001 certification.
  • Ensure that all records in ABS NS (PMS/Purchase/HSQE) are duly attended for the vessels allocated.

The Safety Management System

  • To review the effectiveness of the SMS ensuring compliance with updated Industry guidelines.
  • Monitoring new rules/regulations within the industry for Management Reviews ensuring continual improvement.

Accountability

  • accountable to Technical & Environmental Manager, performing any projects or tasks assigned.

Experience –

* Seagoing experience in a senior officer position on Tankers/Gas for at least two years (on board time)
holding Class 1 (Master Unlimited) Certificate.
*  Preferably to have shore experience as Marine Superintendent in charge of Tankers/Gas Fleet for 1year.
* Excellent communications skills in English.
* Well conversant with Maritime Legislations/Rules/Regulations.
Responsibilities

* Attending vessels for Sailing Audits – Internal/Navigation/Cargo/Mooring within time frame as per SMS
requirements.
*  Sailing with the ship as Fleet Trainers to train onboard Crew.*  Sailing with the ship to assess new or newly promoted Master within the Fleet.
* Utilise risk-based approach ensuring all tasks are carried out safely.
* Ensure the Company SMS, policies, standards, and procedures including navigation practices are effectively
implemented on the vessels allocated.
* Assist for implementation of the KPI’s for the Company.
* Tracking and planning all Internal as well as External Audits including Navigation with effective closure.
* Conducting interviews of potential candidates for promotion or new to the Company “Master; Chief Officer”.
* Prepare response for the external audits and assist HSQE Compliance Manager to respond to the customers
as and when required.
* Ensure all Purchase activities are carried out only with approved suppliers with agreement in place.
* Ensure all Statutory/Trading Certificates onboard are maintained up to date.
* Ensure all significant incidents and near miss are investigated liaising with Management.
* Member of crisis team; support as the situation demands with instructions from team leader.
* Assist for review of Risk Assessments periodically.
* Monitoring the budget activities for HSQE activities.
